WINDY & WARM ... a journey home
Meadowlark's sweet folk roots are palpable in this intimate recording rich with harp-like fingerstyle guitar, sensuous flutes and pennywhistles. This recording features six new Rick Cyge compositions, selections composed by Leo Kottke, Edgar Meyer and Cheryl Wheeler and pieces popularized by Doc Watson and Nanci Griffith. Also included is the often requested "Ashokan Farewell" (best known as the theme music for the Ken Burns' PBS Special on the Civil War). This recording focuses on the interplay between the guitar and flute and is filled with surprises from the mandolin, Irish cittern and pennywhistles.
